About Mizuno
At Mizuno, we have a long and deeply rooted history and heritage dating back to the early 20th century, when Rihachi Mizuno, the grandfather of current Chairman Masato Mizuno, opened the first Mizuno store in Osaka, Japan. Rihachi originally manufactured and sold sportswear, but he soon turned his efforts to developing baseball equipment and promoting school competitions in this sport, so much so that he would later be known as "the father of school baseball" in Japan. When Mizuno was created, Rihachi, and also his son Kenjiro, continued researching other sports disciplines and began to manufacture products that are now world-renowned, including golf clubs and skis (1920), trainers with spikes (1930), running shoes (1950) and football boots (1950). In 1969, we began our international expansion and nowadays our Mizuno products are available in over 50 countries. In 2016 we celebrated 110 years of history.
