Nike’s Metcon series won a place of honor in the mixed shoes niche for its high quality and consistency. Although the Metcon 4 had already made a huge impact on their 2017 launch, the Oregon brand decided to address professional trainers and runners’ concerns with a vastly improved model: the Nike Metcon 5 CrossFit shoes.
These slippers have been designed with a paramount objective: to become your ultimate weapon for all kinds of training.
Much has been said about the great influence that the new Nike Hyperlift sockliner has on the Metcon 5’s performance, and how it combines perfectly with a wider heel to provide an ampler platform for weightlifting and exercises where stability is of paramount importance. This new sockliner is removable and compatible with all the previous Metcon versions, offering greater stability and cushioning thanks to its thickness and density (8 mm for men, 6 mm for women).
This feature would not make much of a difference if the Metcon 5’s outsole were not up to the challenge. But the American brand has implemented a double density design - softer on the front, firmer on the heel - which, in combination with a new wedge pattern, translates into superior traction in both wood and asphalt. This technology, which Nike calls directional traction, extends to the shoe’s sides to provide greater grip on ropes and bars.
The Nike Metcon 5 Men´s Training Shoe is the best Metcon in history, with advances that increase durability, stability and speed. They are designed and created for athletes who want to be stronger every day.
Hyperlift stability for extreme weights:
- Low, flat and wider heel that now incorporates a removable Hyperlift insert, which fits under the midsole and adds drop (6 mm more for women and 8 mm more for men), to increase stability during the squats, ball exercises and thrusters. Without the insert, the drop of the Metcon is 4 mm from heel to toe.
Durability for the ropes:
- More durable protection that goes up to offer excellent traction with resistance to abrasion when climbing the strings ´´that destroy the shoes´´.
Improved speed and agility:
- Directional traction in the template that climbs up the sides to pull and climb faster, along with a TPU thermoplastic polyurethane slide clip in the heel for faster wall bends.

The product itself is 5 stars, very stylish & comfortable & really happy with it however the delivery time was very late it kept being put back & back & no one let me know unless I queried it & even then no apologies just that the shoe will arrive by a new date in the future. In the end it took over 3 weeks from point of purchase.

product is 5 stars. no questions. rly good shoe, stable and comfortable. i only gave it 3 stars cuz of the delivery timing. it stated as it will arrive by 31oct-4nov but end up arriving on 8th. if u were to buy, pls do so without any urgency requirement.

My tags were delivered in 16 days, taking into account the fact that delivery was from the Netherlands to the Amur Region - it is very fast! The track was tracked all the way. Color and size are as claimed. Now about the metcons - they are super mega cool! They look very pi-attractive, but this is not the main thing. They are very comfortable, the leg in them sits tightly like a glove and at the same time it does not press anywhere. They have a wide round toe so the fingers are very loose. The heel sits firmly and securely. Shoelaces of the desired length. The insole is thick and dense. The back of the insole is denser than the front. Also included are 8mm high insoles for use with squats. The quality of the product is excellent, everything looks reliable autumn. Time will tell how long they will last, but I think I have them for a long time. I will not compare with other crossfit shoes, because these are my first specialized cross-country races. I hope they help me achieve new crossfit records!
